KG Personnel is looking for a Production Supervisor to join one of our Bedford-based clients on a permanent basis. The company is a market leader in providing world-class service to the aerospace and automotive industries, so it’s a great opportunity to join a fast-growing team.
As a supervisor, you will use your skills and experience to lead the team of 10 to 30 electro-mechanical technicians and help them to achieve set targets in a timely and efficient manner. Proven management and team player experience are essential in this role.
Responsibilities
As production shop floor supervisor, you will need to:
- Make sure units going through production are built to correct specification
- Coordinate assembly activities to meet production plans in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure working practices are safe and comply with H&S requirements
- Produce reports for production manager
- Ensure production KPI’s are met
- Support and motivate team
- Promote a clean and lean working environment
- Distribute work to team members
- Production hours monitoring and reporting
- Following production schedule
- Improving work areas
- Holding daily meetings with the team
- Reporting progress to production manager
- maintain tooling and tooling lists
- Communicating with various departments
- Helping with training needs
- Any other tasks assigned by the production manager
Qualifications & Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in automotive or similar production environment management
- Health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in order to explain production processes to a range of people and to give presentations to the team
- Negotiating skills to convince managers/staff of the need to implement and maintain production standards that may compromise speed or efficiency on the shop floor
- The ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately
