KG Personnel is looking for a Joinery – Fit-Out Supervisor for a client based in Bedford.
Our client manufactures volumetric 3D structural modules for the Construction Industry to be used in sectors such as Hotels, Residential Apartment Buildings, and Student Accommodation.
You will be required to work as part of the Quality Control Department and within the factory team. Be self-managing and able to work as an individual stand-alone contributor.
Key Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years experience in Joinery Department
• Read and understand drawings and specifications
• Make recommendations on pre-design
• Control various joinery teams and manufacturers
• Have a good understanding of Joinery details and finishes
• Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
• Report inspection data, including observation & non-conformance reports
• Have a good understanding of H&S
• Liaising with Production & Design departments in relation to Quality issues
• Monitor operations to ensure that they meet manufacturing standards at Critical Control Points of the process
• Inspect & measure with rulers, laser measure, materials, or products for defects or deviations from the manufacturer or industry specifications
• Report all products & materials that fail to meet specifications
Skills requirement:
• Quality Control Standards
• Manufacturing Standards (training given)
• Understanding Interior joinery and Fit-out is an advantage but not essential
• Excellent numeracy skills
• Good analytical skills
• Strong prioritisation skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure
• Communications skills and people skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages to intermediate level
Qualifications:
• GCSEs, A levels, or equivalent vocational qualifications related to your field
• Although not essential, NVQ in Joinery / Quality Control / Production Management
• Understanding of working in a Quality Control environment
• Knowledge of ISO:9001
Location: Bedford
Contract type: Permanent
Working Hours: 50 hrs per week
Pay rate: up to £16.50 (DOE)
Annual leave entitlement: 23 days plus all applicable public holidays
