Goods In Supervisor Required in Houghton Regis Area!

KG Personnel is looking for a Goods In Supervisor to join their client based in Houghton Regis. The company is a leader in the distribution of pharmaceutical products across the UK. If you have a proven track of relevant warehouse and team management experience – this might be a role for you!
The purpose of the role is to control all aspects of incoming goods, placement and location of stock, rotation of stock, short dates management and goods that need to be returned to the supplier. You will also need to work efficiently within budgets and to achieve set targets, as well as to recommend and implement agreed changes in order to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
You will be a team player, have an excellent work ethic, very good communication and problem-solving skills.
Main Tasks:
·Ensures all the Goods Inwards team are fully aware of Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to them
·Communicate with suppliers and carriers on goods received short, over or damaged
·Liaise with the Buying Department with regard to any incorrect deliveries
·Decide department priorities particularly concerning stock urgently needed in the warehouse
·Liaise with outside maintenance contracts
·Ensure all goods inwards procedures are strictly adhered to, particularly the accuracy of checking goods
·Ensure an updated and accurate index is maintained on all shelf locations together with an adequate collation of stock to encourage the more proficient assembly
·Ensure stock to be uplifted is collected in a reasonable period of time by supplier/carrier and that all relevant paperwork is passed on to accounts department
·Maintain security of Company stock and assets.
·Ensure overstock shelves are maintained to a standard which will allow maximum picking proficiency with minimum stock damage
·Ensure the correct rotation of stock within locations to enable stock with the shortest life to be sold first
·Work as an integral part of the Management Team to improve the cost-effectiveness of the whole depot operation
·Work within a rota with colleagues to ensure adequate supervision is available to cover all open hours of the Company
·Security responsibilities to include opening, closing, necessary overtime and overnight call-outs
·Ensure all procedures relating to the handling of drugs, particularly controlled drugs and temperature-controlled drugs are strictly adhered to
Candidate should be able to demonstrate:
·Impressive track record of experience in high-quality client and process-oriented environment.
·Ability to perform in the environment of rapid change.
·Strong problem-solving skills.
·Passion in achieving results through efficiency and process improvement.
·Ability to manage activities within the distribution/fulfilment centres (5s audits, alignment with Standard Work procedures)
·Excellent communication skills.
·The ability to communicate in English at all levels
This is a temp – perm full-time position.
Working hours: 11am – 8pm with 1-hour unpaid break and 15 min paid break.
This is a newly created position so your salary might be depending on your experience.
